Teachers are more than just educators—they guide, encourage, and support us throughout our journey. Teachers’ Day is a special opportunity for us to show appreciation for our mentors who have guided us along the way.
On 3rd September, classes kicked off the celebrations with their own fun activities. Our classrooms were filled with excitement as we decorated our rooms and prepared tributes for our form teachers. Upon arrival, our teachers were greeted with smiles, cheers, and warm gratitude. Everyone shared breakfast with snacks brought in by students, and seeing our teachers' joy gave us a deep sense of accomplishment.
The excitement then moved to the hall, where laughter and cheers filled the space. From a hilarious lip-reading game to the entertaining “Guess What’s in the Teacher’s Bag?”, each segment brought fresh energy. Performances by Mr Ghaz, Eliza Ghazaly (4I2), Natasha Lee (3C3) alongside the String Ensemble and Band showcased the rich talent and behind-the-scenes effort of our school community.
The interactive games gave us the chance to connect with our teachers in a relaxed setting. Chee Tze Ching (2H4) noted, “It was fun to get to know the teachers and interact with them more. The videos and games were also very interesting.”
The House Music Videos, which captured the creativity and hard work of the different student leadership committees. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of students spent countless hours planning, filming, and coordinating to bring the event to life. Ashalina Syairah (3H4) shared, “I learnt that teamwork and efficient communication are the most important things when planning a big event, as we had to collaborate across many different (leadership) boards.”
Seeing the teachers enjoy themselves on stage and screen added even more laughter to the day. Manya John (3R1), who also helped plan the event, shared, “It was heartwarming to see the teachers enjoying the performances and games. They were laughing a lot and having fun among themselves.”
Next, our teachers and staff were treated like royalty at Crowne Plaza Hotel. Donning twinkling tiaras, everyone enjoyed lively conversations and cheerful laughter. “The photo booth gave us a chance to take fun photos and create happy memories with our colleagues,” shared Mdm Wong Pui Leng.
The energy stayed high with entertaining games, followed by a perfume-making workshop where staff showcased their creative flair. Ms Nurhayati enthused, “It was such a meaningful activity, and everyone got to bring home something that’s uniquely their own!”
Teachers’ Day was a celebration of the people who make TKGS shine every day: teachers and staff who give so much, and a community that treasures them. Our teachers truly deserved their moment in the spotlight!
